2016 Chestnut Oldenburg GOV Colt
Foal of Distinction & Premium Foal Award
This is an extremely flashy and correct colt with three excellent gaits. At the Oldenburg (GOV) Foal Inspection, he was named a Stallion Prospect and Foal of Distinction, as well as the site Champion Colt. He is extremely uphill with the powerful hind end that Dream Boy is known to pass on to his foals. His trot is huge, uphill and round, and his canter is the same. This youngster is going to turn heads in the ring. He is very personable and people-oriented and has been handled since birth. This is an amateur's dream horse, with high quality, type, and movement with a personality that loves attention. He should mature near 17 hands. Born May 7, 2016 via embryo transfer. He is pictured with his surrogate mare.
Over the past few years, Dream Boy has established himself in sport and breeding. His foals have been praised by the KWPN for their legginess and radiance. Dream Boy placed fourth in the Pavo Cup, and won two of four tests at the GMB stallion show, receiving 9.5 for trot, canter and conformation. He later won the bronze medal at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses, and is now at home in the Grand Prix dressage tour.
He combines the three most important stallion lines of the Netherlands. He was the first son of the coveted Vivaldi, who combines the international bloodline founder, Krack C, and Jazz in his lineage. He has 20 approved sons in Germany alone and was competed by team European champion Hans Peter Minderhoud in international competitions. Dream Boy’s dam sire, Ferro, is the grandfather of Olympic champion Valegro and Uthopia and was himself fifth in the individual competition at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.
His pedigree is complemented on the maternal side by the Trakehner Balzflug in the third generation, which is derived from an Irish Thoroughbred pedigree. Dream Boy’s grandmother was 60 percent thoroughbred, her grandfather competed at international eventing competitions under Martin Plewa. Many S-Class successful sport horses have already emerged from the dam line.
His dam, Beata, is an Oldenburg GOV mare, and in 2013 was USDF All Breeds Oldenburg GOV Reserve Champion Yearling Filly and in the top ten USDF HOY Yearling Fillies. She is a stylish mare with an excellent trot with a very active hind end. She is uphill with a well-laid shoulder and excellent saddle position. She has been started under saddle and with her steady personality we expect that she will develop into a competitive dressage horse.
Her sire Belissimo M has set numerous performance records: he was a top auction horse, a record breaking stallion performance test winner, Bundeschampion, and a finalist at the World Championship for young dressage horses. He has competed successfully up to the Grand Prix level. His offspring have also set records: Nine stallion performance test winners and five Bundeschampions, 42 licensed sons and 80 state premium mares. His dam is full sister of the Celle State Stud sires Garibaldi I and II, and grand-dam of Wolkenstein I and II as well as the Celle State Stud sires Brentano I and II and Beauvalais.
