De Niro / Ravinia (Roi du Soleil / Sir Donnerhall)

2017 Bay Oldenburg GOV  Colt

Foal of Distinction

Premium Foal Award

This fantastic De Niro colt is a terrific FEI prospect with the attitude for the big ring. He has excellent, correct conformation, substantial bone and joints; this is a colt with bone to spare! Duc has three superb gaits with a massive round trot, sitting deep and carrying his weight over his hind end. He shows excellent flexion in his hocks at both the trot and canter.  His walk and trot have a clear overstep and are clean and correct. His canter is lovely, deep, round and balanced with an uphill tendency. He is a strong willed colt but he does respond well to handling. He was born via embryo transfer, and is pictured with his surrogate mare.

Bred by Hidden Springs Ranch, she is a stellar modern mare: long legged and elegant with three excellent gaits. Her bloodlines are an excellent addition to the breeding program.
